Code Of Conduct (please read carefully)
1. Respect: By participating in TGV's Peer Navigation service, you agree to treat your Peer Navigator and yourself with dignity, kindness, and respect at all times. Use and expect the use of correct names and pronouns. If unsure, clarification should be sought in a respectful manner. Please allow the session to remain focused on your needs and goals, while respecting the professional boundaries of the Peer Navigator.
2. Safety and Confidentiality: Sessions with your Peer Navigator are confidential and intended to be a safe, non-judgmental space. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or bullying of any kind is not acceptable. Personal stories and information shared during sessions will remain private, unless there is a legal or safety obligation to disclose.
3. Personal Accountability: Be open to reflection and personal growth. Take responsibility for your words and actions in the peer support relationship. If misunderstandings or discomfort arise, discuss them honestly and constructively with your Peer Navigator. Engage with honesty and integrity, and be open to receiving feedback when offered.
4. Attendance, Punctuality and Cancellations: Please arrive for sessions on time and with a willingness to engage in the process. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please contact your Peer Navigator as soon as possible. If you are unwell, we ask you not to attend in-person sessions.
5. Online Sessions: If participating remotely, ensure a private, safe space where you feel comfortable to speak freely. Maintain the same respectful and engaged conduct in virtual sessions as you would in person. Avoid distractions during the session, such as using phones or multitasking.
6. Your Commitment: By participating in sessions with TGV, you agree to uphold values of respect, safety, inclusion, accountability, and trust within the peer support relationship. TGV reserves the right to terminate any session and subsequent sessions that breaches this code, and possibly asked not to attend future events at TGV for serious breaches.
7. De-identified Data: As Transgender Victoria is funded by the Victorian State Government, we provide de-identified data to our funders on a quarterly basis. We will never share your personal details or other identifying information with our funders.
