our impact

June 2025

For many transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary (TGD) people, the path to authentic living is often shadowed by profound challenges. The statistics paint a stark picture:

  • 83%1 of TGD people experience loneliness.
  • 3 in 42 TGD people in Victoria have been diagnosed with depression or anxiety.
  • 77%1 of TGV people feel isolated from others.

These figures underscore a critical need for spaces where trans communities can find belonging, understanding, and support.

affirmation station

In March 2025 we re-opened our newly expanded Affirmation Station on Lygon Street. Affirmation Station welcomes 50+ people through our doors each week, accessing a gender affirming op shop, peer navigation services, and affirmation services such as personal styling, makeup lessons, top surgery lived experience lessons, binder fittings, bra fittings, voice therapy, and bodywork.

being valued

1 in 2 LGBTQIA+ Victorians have experienced gendered violence at work. That's why we, in partnership with Your Community Health and with support from WorkSafe Victoria, developed Being Valued — an educational toolkit designed to equip workplaces with the knowledge and tools to create safer, more inclusive environments for LGBTQIA+ Victorians.

In May 2025 we launched over 20 free resources to support LGBTQIA+ Victorians to be safer, healthier and happier at work

support our work

Without organisations like TGV, trans people lack essential support structures, perpetuating cycles of marginalisation and poor health outcomes.

Our services are not just necessary—they are lifesaving.

Transgender Victoria is shaping the future for TGD communities across Victoria and beyond . Please consider and supporting our work.
