I came out later in life. I grew up in regional areas (Clunes and Scarsdale, before moving into Ballarat), where there weren’t really any visible queer people. I often feel quite disconnected to most communities in some way or another, so I have trouble fitting in. As a trans health professional I've been focusing on 'making safe space' for LGBTIQA community, particularly the trans and gender diverse community within healthcare. There has been a long and complicated history for trans people seeking medical assistance of any kind, so I'm passionate about providing education on trans and gender diverse inclusive healthcare, especially in the emergency department where I work.
